Ximena Montes Manzano

Ximena Montes Manzano, BSc, Barrister-at-law specialises in all areas of taxation and practises from Temple Tax Chambers in London. Ximena provides advice, litigation support and advocacy services during Alternative Dispute Resolution, in the tax tribunals and higher courts, and to members of the public, accountants, tax advisers and lawyers.
Ximena has experience of capital gains tax and in particular main residence relief and has successfully represented and defended her clients’ entitlement to the relief in circumstances where HMRC had misunderstood the salient facts of the case and/or the legal tests. She is a regular contributor to the professional press, a technical editor, an author of text books and counsel retained by the professional bodies’ working party on Professional Conduct to review and advise on the guidance Professional Conduct in Relation to Taxation, in addition to other legal issues. Ximena regularly speaks about developments in main residence relief at tax conferences all over the country.
Ximena was the 2014 winner of the Rising Star category at the Taxation awards.
