Paul Howard is a Chartered Accountant and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation. He moved into tax while studying for the ICAEW exams, and covers a range of direct taxes, with a particular focus on the interaction of taxes and planning for small and medium sized businesses and their owners.
He is currently a director at Dixon Wilson Chartered Accountants in London, where he provides technical support for the firm and advises on a wide range of complex issues for the firm’s clients. Prior to that he was a tax director at Gabelle LLP, an independent tax consultancy providing specialist advice to professional firms.
Paul also lectures on a range of direct tax issues relevant to owner-managed businesses both internally and for the CIOT.
