Jake originally qualified as a mechanical and electrical engineer and later as a senior programme manager on an unrivalled multinational collaborative project. His responsibilities on that programme included, among other things, the life cycle cost, funding, improvements, and environmental issues facing the construction and management of buildings and facilities in four European countries.
Jake became a capital allowances specialist in 2007 founding Six Forward as a capital allowances firm in 2010 and was its managing director until 2023. He now has several general consulting roles while the firm continues as a multi-skilled consultancy that includes in-house survey and valuation as well as important advice on buying and selling, to more than 250 UK accountants and their clients, analysing expenditure of over £1 billion per year.
Jake has written capital allowances articles for the accounting institutions and is a regular presenter and speaker, sometimes with Ray Chidell, to tax specialists, accountants, and solicitors.
